Footwear Review

Mizuno sports footwear have been around for years and are better known by our USA, Eueopean and particularly our Japanese friends. The Mizuno Alchemy 5 comes in men's and women's fittings up to size 15 with width fittings also available. The mid sole of the shoe utilises Mizuno Wave technology which disperses impact force and resists overpronation (excessive flattening or rolling in) of the foot just after the heel strikes the ground. Traditionally running shoes use flat midsoles and variable densities of EVA to achieve this dispersion during impact.

The Alchemy sits well in the mid range of shoes offering moderate support and control and is suitable for the middle to distance running but seems to be most at home around gymnasiums or power walking. It is mildly straight suiting a straight type foot that moderately pronates. Rating 4 out of 5.
