What is Metatarsalgia (Ball of Foot Pain)?
Ball of foot pain, metatarsalgia or Mortons Neuroma are common conditions seen in the forefoot or the area just before the toes on the bottom of the foot. This area of the foot flexes prior to toe off in the gait cycle so is most loaded with forces at this point. Symptoms can range from burning, stabbing or throbbing pain in this region of the foot typically when wearing shoes |

How do Metatarsal Domes work?
Podlink Metatarsal Domes are designed to improve foot function by supporting the metatarsal arch and distributing weight and pressure more evenly across the ball of the foot. When people develop pain in the ball of the foot the condition is commonly known as metatarsalgia. Combine metatarsal domes with Podlink orthotics to achieve the most positive outcome.
How to position Metatarsal Domes?
The diagram shows how metatarsal domes can be located onto Podlink orthotics. The domes have an adhesive backing that can be peeled away allowing the domes to be adhered directly to your orthotic. Try the position shown in the photograph below or move it forward or back from this postion until it feels comfortable. Always remember to wear Podlink orthotics and metatarsal domes in gradually.
